Yan Maratka is a talented clarinetist with extensive performance experience. He has participated in numerous performances, including solo clarinet performances with Orchestre Pasdeloup, guest appearances with renowned orchestras such as Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, and Orchestre National de Lyon, and solo collaborations with Orchestre National de Cannes, Münchener Kammerorchester, London City Orchestra, and other ensembles. He has also participated in chamber music performances with Philippe Bernold, Michel Portal, and other artists, and has been invited to perform at major events such as the Aix-en-Provence Festival and the Mozart Festival. In terms of pedagogy, he teaches casually at Conservatoire du 12e Paul Dukas and Conservatoire de Saint-Cloud in Paris, works as a coach for the DEMOS Orchestra at Philharmonie de Paris and Seine Musicale, and provides private lessons and school intervention programs.

Yan Maratka is currently pursuing studies at Haute École de Musique in Geneva, studying clarinet under Romain Guyot. He previously studied at CNSMDP (Conservatoire de Paris), majoring in clarinet under Philippe Berrod and Arnaud Leroy, and was a founding member of the Pentagone Wind Quintet. He completed courses in chamber music, historic clarinet, musical analysis, sight reading, and pedagogy. He also studied clarinet under Franck Amet at CRR de Paris, and participated in multiple international music academies, including the International Pacific Music Festival Academy in Sapporo, Japan, the International Chamber Music Academy of Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and the International Academy of Clarinet of Prag, learning from renowned musicians such as Alexander Bader, Kirill Gerstein, and Ernesto Molinari.

In competitions, Yan Maratka has achieved remarkable results: he was a semi-finalist and special prize winner of the 2025 ARD Competition in Munich, a finalist of the 2023 Jacques Lancelot International Clarinet Competition in Tokyo, the first prize winner of the 2024 Leoš Janáček International Clarinet Competition in Brno, the third prize winner of the 2023 International Lisbon Clarinet Competition, and the first prize winner of the 2024 Thomas Kuti International Clarinet Competition in Bordeaux and the 2016 15th Clarinet Competition in Picardy. Beyond music, he has studied cinematography at the Sorbonne and École Alsacienne, directed short films, and won the prize of the film competition at the 17th Festival des Cinémas Différents et Expérimentaux de Paris for her work. He is also taking flight lessons to obtain a Private Pilot Licence (PPL).
