Chan Hau Wo (b. 2002, Hong Kong) is a clarinetist currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) under Ms. Wong Ka-yee. He began his studies with Mr. Young Sze-chun and has furthered his training at the Buffet Crampon USA Summer Clarinet Academy (2025).

Actively engaged in Hong Kong’s music scene, Chan has performed with leading youth ensembles. He was a clarinetist with the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra (2019), representing Hong Kong in a cultural exchange with the Thailand Symphony Orchestra. Since 2023, he has served as E-flat Clarinetist for the Hong Kong Symphony Wind Orchestra, touring with them to the Chiayi City Wind Music Festival in Taiwan (2024). From 2023 to 2025, he was a member of the Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestra, performing across Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Macau. In summer 2024, he also performed with the Hong Kong Youth Orchestra in major works by Mahler and Bernstein.

His orchestral repertoire demonstrates versatility across the clarinet family— including B-flat, A, E-flat, and Bass Clarinet—in works by Dvořák, Bernstein, and Mahler. An active chamber musician, Chan is a founding member of the Clarisma Clarinet Ensemble, with whom he won Overall Champion in the Ensemble Category (Open Section) at the 2024 Buffet Crampon Competition. He has also received a Gold Award in the Advanced Section (Clarinet Solo) at the 2019 Buffet Crampon Competition and a Certificate of Merit at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.Chan has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists including Florent Héau, Alexandre Chabod, Yehuda Gilad, and Diane Barger. His dedication has been recognized through the HKSAR Government Scholarship and the SAR Philharmonic Scholarship.
