Jay Roon Chua is a clarinetist currently studying at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (NUS), under Artist Faculty Ma Yue. She actively develops her artistry through international festivals and masterclasses across Asia and Europe.
Her orchestral experience includes performances under Maestro Lü Shao-Chia with the National Symphony Youth Orchestra (Taibei) and Maestro Masaaki Suzuki at the Chofu International Music Festival (Japan). She has also worked with leading clarinetists such as Nicolas Baldeyrou, Olivier Patey, Florent Héau, Annelien Van Wauwe amongst many others.
In March 2025, she won the Conservatory’s Concerto Competition and will appear as a soloist with the Orchestral Institute in 2026. In September 2025, she performed Carl Nielsen’s Clarinet Concerto with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in the President’s Young Performers Concert. She also performed as a soloist with the OMM Camp orchestra, playing Bruch’s double concerto for clarinet and viola (2025). She also recently won 2nd Place with the SNAFU Wind Quintet at the Princess Galyani Institute of Music (2025).
