Ren Kaige began learning the clarinet from his father at the age of 11. During his high school years, he was admitted to the art class of a key middle school in his city, where he received systematic music training for three years. Later, he was admitted to Capital Normal University, studying under Teacher Wang Yingnan. Teacher Wang Yingnan is an associate professor of clarinet at the College of Music of Capital Normal University, a master’s supervisor, a doctor of clarinet performance, and also a distinguished professor at the Capital Academy of the Arts in Singapore.

Ren Kaige has important performance experience. In November 2026, he participated in the performance of Mahler’s “Symphony No. 9” with the Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, accumulating valuable stage experience.
