Liu Peihan began learning the piano at an early age and started studying the clarinet with Teacher Zou Ruofei from Chongqing University of Science and Technology at the age of 7. At the age of 9, she began to study under Teacher Sun Zhen from the Orchestral Department of Sichuan Conservatory of Music. In 2024, she was admitted to the Affiliated Secondary Music School of Sichuan Conservatory of Music with the first place in comprehensive scores, continuing her further study under Teacher Sun Zhen. Currently, she serves as the principal clarinetist of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music Youth Symphony Orchestra and was selected into the “Outstanding Professional Talent” training program of Sichuan Conservatory of Music in 2025.

Since the age of 11, Liu Peihan has been emerging on the stage. She has been invited to cooperate with the Liangshan Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra and Chongqing Symphony Orchestra successively, and has successfully performed Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2 in E-flat Major, Op. 74 and Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Major, Op. 622 together with conductors Tang Qingshi, Xia Xiaotang and Guo Xiuwu, winning wide praise for her excellent performance.

Liu Peihan has won many honors in the clarinet field and shown strength beyond her age. In 2025, at the age of 12, she was selected into the Cluj International Clarinet Competition (adult competition) in Romania, becoming the youngest official contestant in the history of the competition. Her musical expression and playing skills were highly praised by the chairman of the jury Răzvan Cosmin Poptean and clarinetists Kevin Spagnolo and Shirley Brill. In addition, she has won many awards such as the second place in the Professional Junior Group of the 4th Buffet Cup (China) Youth Clarinet Competition and the Gold Medal in Wind Solo of the China Preliminary Round of the Liszt Academy of Music Elite Competition, and won the first prize in the Western Music Clarinet Group of the Chongqing Municipal Middle and Primary School Students’ Talent Competition for three consecutive years.
