Li Songze is a master’s student majoring in clarinet at the Orchestral Department of the Central Conservatory of Music. He is currently studying under Professor Wang Tao from the Central Conservatory of Music. He has been studying under Teacher He Mingyi from the Changsha Symphony Orchestra since childhood and has received guidance from masters such as Professor Tao Chunxiao and Professor Xi Weilong.

He has won the first prize in the Alba International Music Competition in Italy, the second prize in the Woodwind Group of the 25th Osaka International Music Competition, the first place in the clarinet category of the 7th China Music Little Golden Bell Wind Music Exhibition, and has won the gold medal and overall championship in the 1st and 2nd Hunan Wind Music Competitions consecutively. He has been selected into the official competition of the 74th ARD International Music Competition, the official competition of the 17th Tchaikovsky International Music Competition, the semi-finals of the 8th Lisbon International Clarinet Competition, the official competition of the Cluj International Music Competition, the official competition of the Hosingen International Clarinet Competition in Luxembourg, and the semi-finals of the 36th Japan Woodwind Competition. He was admitted to the undergraduate program of the Central Conservatory of Music in 2021 and was recommended for admission to the master’s program of the Central Conservatory of Music in 2024.

He has participated in various solo, chamber music and symphony performances at the Repino Concert Hall in Russia, the Osaka National Convention Hall, the National Centre for the Performing Arts of China, and the Beijing Art Center. In February 2024, he participated in the live broadcast and performance of the Changsha sub-venue of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala with the Changsha Symphony Orchestra. In May of the same year, he participated in the “Exploring the Literary City” themed concert, and the two commissioned clarinet solo works premiered won high praise from the writer Yu Hua.

Andrew Marriner, a renowned British clarinetist and educator, once commented: “His performance possesses awe-inspiring exquisite skills and convincing expressive ability, and his interpretation of music of different genres is highly persuasive.”
