Seoyoung Lee, a South Korean clarinetist born on May 22, 2001 and currently residing in Lausanne, Switzerland, is pursuing her first Master’s degree in Orchestra at HEMU Lausanne under the tutelage of Florent Héau since September 2024, having previously completed her Bachelor’s degree at Seoul National University with Sangwoo Lim from March 2020 to February 2024. She has accumulated rich orchestral experience, serving as an academy member of the Sinfonietta de Lausanne since September 2025, holding the position of Guest Principal Clarinet at the Opéra de Lorraine from April to May 2025, working as a Guest 2nd Clarinet with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne from March to April 2025, and acting as a regular guest musician with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande since December 2024. As an accomplished competition performer, she advanced to the semi-finals of the 6th International Ghent Competition in November 2024 and the 6th Jacques Lancelot International Clarinet Competition in August 2023, and won the first prize at both the KBS Hanjeon Competition and the Buffet Crampon Korea Competition in July 2021 and August 2019 respectively. Additionally, she has delivered outstanding solo performances, including concerto collaborations with the KBS Symphony Orchestra starting October 2021 and a featured recital at the Kumho Young Artist Concert beginning September 2018.
