Xu Jialu is currently a freshman at Sichuan Conservatory of Music, studying under Teacher Deng Huanghe. She has been exposed to clarinet learning since childhood, joining the Wind Orchestra of the Affiliated Primary School of Sichuan University at the age of 7, and starting systematic clarinet study with Teacher Deng Huanghe from Sichuan Conservatory of Music at the age of 9. During this period, she also received teaching guidance from many masters, including Cristiano Alves, Milan Rericha, Benjamin Lulich, Luigi Magistrelli, Nathan Willams, Yuan Yuan and Bai Tie.
Xu Jialu has performed prominently in the clarinet field and won many competition honors. In 2016, she won the First Prize in Western Wind Music of the 16th Art Talents Competition and the Top Ten New Seed Children in the 18th Chengdu New Seed Children’s Competition; in 2018, she obtained the First Prize in the China Preliminary Round of the 4th Melbourne International Youth Music Competition; in 2019, she won the First Prize in Chengdu, China Division of the 2nd Omantus International Art Competition; in 2021, she won the Second Prize in the Cuneo International Music Competition in Italy; in 2024, she won the First Prize in the Youth Group of the 20th Italian International Clarinet Competition.
